• BULLYING ADVICE •
1. If you are being bullied, tell as many people as you can - your parents, teachers, friends, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and cousins. This is important because if people don’t know, they can’t help.
2. Tell your teacher. Tell them the truth, and as clearly what happened as you can. Tell your parents that you have talked to your teacher, so they know what’s going on. Your school knows how to help with bullying and to stop it happening, so don’t worry.
3. Look the bully straight in the eye and accuse them of bullying. Say something like “Are you trying to bully me?” or “Why are you bullying me?”. Usually this is enough to make them stop. Then you can say “You do know I’m going to tell my teacher, parents, friends and anyone else I can think of, don’t you?"

4. If you have been or think you will be hit, say “You’ve just hit me, and that’s serious. I’m going to tell my teacher what you’ve done.” or “If you hit me you know I’m going to tell my teacher and you’ll be in big trouble.”
5. Walk away as fast as possible - do not run - and go straight to a teacher.
6. Avoid being caught alone. Walk with friends.
7. If the bullying continues, ask your parents to contact the school. They can read the article for adults about bullinging on this website. It will help them know what to do.
8. By telling people, you may be stopping a bad situation from becoming worse, and probably helping the bully at the same time. |
